Manage categories

Categories let you run several competitions in one tournament, for example recreational and competitive, or U12 and U14. Each category has its own teams, rounds, and standings.
How to set up categories
- Open the Manage tab and select Categories.
- If your tournament doesn't use categories yet, click Use categories.
- Rename the existing category, for example to "Recreational".
- Click Add category to add more, for example "Competitive".
- To edit or delete a category, use the edit (pencil) or delete (trash can) icon next to it.
Once categories are set up, the Teams option has a dropdown in the top right corner for adding teams to each category. Participants can switch between categories on your event's pages.
Category FAQs
Q: Can I add categories after my format and games have been set up?
A: Yes, you can add categories at any time. If your format is already set up, new categories use the same format.
Q: What happens if I remove a category from my tournament?
A: All existing games and schedules associated with that category are cleared from your tournament.
Q: Can I use categories in a league?
A: No, categories are only available for tournaments.
