A bracket for any number of teams
Tourny builds a single elimination bracket for any team count, adding early rounds like pre-quarterfinals and placing byes when the number of teams isn't a power of two. Turn on seeding to spread the strongest teams through the bracket.
Rank more than the winner
Add placement games for 3rd, 5th and 7th place, and consolation games for teams knocked out early, so every team gets more than one game.
Winners move on automatically
As each result is entered, the winner moves into their next game and the bracket updates for everyone following along.
Questions organizers ask
What is a single elimination bracket?
In a single elimination bracket, a team is out after one loss. Winners keep advancing until one team is left. It's quick to run, but half the teams only play one game unless you add placement or consolation games.
What if my number of teams isn't 4, 8 or 16?
That's fine. Tourny adds byes and early rounds automatically, so a bracket works for any number of teams.
Can I seed teams from pool play?
Yes. Use round robin to single elimination and Tourny seeds the bracket from the final pool standings, including wildcards if you use them.
When should I use double elimination instead?
Use double elimination when you want every team to play at least two games and get a second chance after one loss. It takes more games and more time.
