Two ways to pair teams
Group pairing matches teams within groups of similar rank and saves the toughest matchups for later rounds. Ranked pairing pairs each team with its closest opponent in the current standings. Edit any pairing by hand, or turn on automatic pairing for each new round.
Odd numbers and playoffs
With an odd number of teams, one team gets a bye each round. Follow the ladder with single or double elimination playoffs if you want a bracket at the end.

What is a Swiss ladder tournament?
A Swiss ladder is a format where teams play a fixed number of rounds and are paired each round against teams with a similar record. Nobody is eliminated, and the final standings rank every team.
How many rounds should a Swiss ladder have?
It depends on your time and number of teams. More rounds produce more accurate standings. A common rule of thumb is enough rounds that one undefeated team remains, which is about log₂ of the number of teams.
What happens with an odd number of teams?
One team gets a bye each round and sits that round out. Byes are shown with that round's pairings.
Can I change the pairings?
